Lobbyist: This field has more than its fair share of negative connotations, but it is a very real and sometimes very powerful career path. Essentially, lobbyists aim to influence political decisions made by government officials in order to create legislation that is favorable to whichever industry they represent. For example, a lobbyist for the green energy industry would fight for bills that require businesses to use solar power because that would lead to an incredible profit windfall for her industry.
