Closed Mouths Don’t Get Fed:

Speaking up for yourself at work is an important part of not only boosting your own confidence as an employee, but also letting your colleagues and supervisors know that you know your own value. If your employer asks for feedback from employees at a staff meeting, go ahead and raise your hand (if you have feedback to give, of course). If you feel you are eligible for an upcoming promotion, bring it up to your boss. If you’ve always wanted to switch cubicles because you’d like more sunlight, less noise, or something else, say so. As long as it’s done conscientiously, professionally, and when appropriate, there is no harm in voicing your needs.
