JobHero is an online service that serves as an all-in-one hub for your job search. All it takes is to sign up for a free account and look at a very quick tutorial in order to get you up and running.

To begin with, it has a ton of job listings. You can search by type of job and region simultaneously, so you’re not looking at jobs in Cleveland when you would never travel west of the West Side Highway.

It also has a fantastic built-in organizing tool. You can select jobs that interest you, and update where you are in the application process. This way, you’ll never inadvertently send a “hope to hear from you soon” note to a company that’s already rejected you.

You can upload important documents, so your cover letter, resume, and more are all in the same place and easily accessible. You even have the ability to set reminders for yourself, so you know exactly when that second interview is.

But JobHero’s best feature is its Chrome extension, the JobHero Sidekick. When you find a job listing you like on any pretty much any major job site, from LinkedIn to Monster to StackOverflow, all you have to do is press one button and all of the job’s info will be saved to your JobHero account. This feature has been met with glowing reviews and is, like the rest of the site, free to use. The site also contains a blog with well-written original content around careers and job hunting.

JobHero, Inc. is itself a very small company that is less than two years old. Despite only having $25,000 in seed money on hand, the company’s three founders have built a great product – one that is starting to get some well-deserved press attention. JobHero is free to use for now, but the NYC-based founders revealed recently that they’ll be adding what they call a “premium feature set” and a “freemium” model in upcoming months.

Those founders, Sherveen Mashayekhi, Jerry Reptak, and Stefan Mancevski, originally set out to create a “Tinder for jobs.” Then they found inspiration in the popular online bulletin board system Trello, and created an online bulletin board of about 100 job hunters. The three founders helped those folks search for work, all the while taking note of which parts of the job search process needed to be improved or streamlined. All of this information went into creating their current dashboard-based model.

The founders initially focussed their attentions on recent college graduates and those searching for internships. But in a brief amount of time, JobHero has come to be a valuable tool for job seekers of all kinds. The site seems poised for tremendous improvement and growth.
